USAID … vehicle for fomenting unrest

Associated Press in Washington have just released a report, coming out of a freedom of information request, that the USA have been making use of "Agents Provocateurs"  to foment unrest in foreign countries.

"Beginning as early as October 2009, a project overseen by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) sent Venezuelan, Costa Rican and Peruvian young people to Cuba in hopes of ginning up rebellion. The travelers worked undercover, often posing as tourists, and traveled around the island scouting for people they could turn into political activists."

This only a few months after revelations of "Cuban Twitter"

It starts me wondering. Just how spontaneous was "the Arab Spring"?

We are aware that the UK Department of Foreign Affairs dispatched a group of SAS troops to establish contact with the rebellion leaders in Libya.

"The six SAS troops and two MI6 officers were seized by Libyan rebels in the eastern part of the country after arriving by helicopter four days ago. They left on HMS Cumberland, the frigate that had docked in Benghazi to evacuate British and other EU nationals as Libya lurched deeper into conflict. The diplomatic team's departure marked a perfunctory end to a bizarre and botched venture."

"I can confirm that a small British diplomatic team has been in Benghazi," said William Hague, the foreign secretary. "The team went to Libya to initiate contacts with the opposition. They experienced difficulties, which have now been satisfactorily resolved. They have now left Libya."

If this has indeed become the modus operandi of our Governments, it is time to call them to account. The United Nations charter, which was designed to maintain peace in the world, specifically prohibits interference in another nation's internal affairs except by way of Security Council resolution.

It is time for us to make the world a better place, a place where, if not for ourselves for our grand children, people can live in peace choosing sustainable development over greed.

If we can not win and argument rationally let us not stoop to criminality.
